Physicals Offered in August | Required Athletic Physicals Being Offered at Saline Middle School for Only $30 On Wednesday, August 5th from 6-9 p.m. the Saline Athletic Department is going to offer physicals at Saline Middle School for the cost of $30. Included in the cost is a custom mouth guard. Cash or checks made payable to Saline Area Schools will be accepted. No appointment is necessary and the process takes about an hour. All proceeds go towards the purchase of medical supplies for Saline Athletics. Since all Saline athletes are required to have an annual physical on file with the school, this is an excellent opportunity to complete this requirement for the next school year and raise funds for Saline Athletics at the same time.
A Saline dentist, Dr. Neil Kinra will be on site starting at 5:30 providing fittings for custom mouth guards for all our athletes who get their physicals on the 5th. There will be a limited number of mouth guards available the night of physicals. The mouth guards will be available a week or so later. If you receive a physical on August 5 but are unable to get a mouth guard at that time, there will be an opportunity to get a free one directly from Dr. Kinra's office with an appointment up until August 21, 2009.
Custom fit mouth guards are not available for athletes with braces. Due to the material utilized, this process can be very difficult and uncomfortable. It is recommended that an athlete with braces just use the boil and bite mouth guard available in stores.
